hello!

i am not dead. i have been working everyday! i know weird, huh? cold and flu season is good for substitutes.

a few things going on around here........

* Alie-Grace is on crutches with a sprained ankle. (yes it is how old Katie was when all the drama started with her foot and its Alie's left foot too! I know, weird!)

*Wesley is officially on the waiting list for MTSU center for dyslexia. They are a non-profit group who provide diagnosis and treatment for dyslexia.

*Kate completed the 5th grade writing assessment yesterday. She has been so nervous and doing practice prompts every night for two weeks. On Monday night right at bedtime she wanted to do one more. Well you are allowed 35 minutes to complete them and I wanted her in bed on time. She disappeared into the kitchen and comes back out with a note for me. It read....

PROMPT: what happens when your mom doesn't let you practice for the writing assessment?

YOU FAIL!
PRACTICE WILL ONLY HELP ME,
YOUR ONLY HURTING ME!

she still went to bed on time! She got up in a good mood. Had her favorite breakfast (cream of wheat) and then 10 minutes before they started I took a big basket of hot muffins to her class (brain food she says) and she feels like she did really well.

It makes me even more proud of Katie to hear just how determined she was! Rachel, what you didn't mention is that Katie is an AWESOME writer! (For those of you who don't know me, I'm Katie's teacher.) This girl is one smart cookie! I'm sure she did great!!!

I can't believe these babies have grown up so fast! They are all 3 awesome kids. That's because they have awesome, loving parents.
