NOTHING IS MORE UNEQUAL THAN EQUAL TREATMENT OF UNEQUALS
I am sitting here searching through home school laws and umbrella schools and thinking "What am I doing? My kids are fine in public school." Fine, did I just say fine! Is it OK that we are fine? Is that enough? I didn't say excited and over flowing with information did I? Is it really OK that they are just FINE? I have several friends who are WONDERFUL teachers and this has NOTHING to do with you, or any teacher. God, has truly placed amazing teachers in the path of my children. Steven and I have known since before Katie. was 1 yr old that we would home school at some point. I have been hiding my head in the sand. I have stayed so busy doing "other stuff" be it good and productive "stuff" I have ignored my call to teach my children. I want my children to explore and discover and devour their education. I don't want it to be OK for them to get and average grade and be "FINE." I know that teachers spend hours of their education learning that children have different learning styles. Well, Yes. However, did anyone tell the higher ups that all children cant absorb multiplication at age 8. No matter what the learning style. Did anyone tell them that just because a child doesn't learn at the AVERAGE rate doesn't mean their slow and need modification. Maybe they need a chance to learn something else and come back when they are ready. I know there are only so many hours in a teachers day and many of them wish they could teach their own way. I hope I am not coming across bitter, I am just fed up with the whole 'teach to test' , 'no child left behind' program. Soon we will be Moving on............................... Yeah!

Ok, so they all are coming home?! I'm thrilled that you will be getting to do what you have always wanted to do!
Jenny's book is a good, quick read. I am borrowing it from a friend right now. Took me about 4 hours tops to read. Compelling.
So have you decided for sure for this next year!?!
A close friend of mine has decided to.............I haven't yet, but I think it is in my future at some point.
