Today was not beautiful but WOW was it nice to get such a mild day before all the heat gets here. The kids just knew I was going to take them swimming (HAHAHAHA!) It was only 70 degrees.
We did however have a good day. We ran some errands & the we (they)FED THE DUCKS. If you know me at all, then you know I am TERRIFIED of anything with feathers. I am trying very hard not to instill this fear in my children. This does get complicated if I am under the car saying "Oh No Don't be scared" because a bird swooped with in 6ft. of me.
So make a mental pic of this.................(By the way Brea I hold you responsible for this INSANE idea)
I have a bag of stale bread and say to the kids "We will feed the ducks after our errands" You should have seen their faces because understand THEY HAVE NEVER FED A DUCK!
We pull into the park and I tell the kids, "the ducks are going to be excited and they will all want a bite." "Throw the bread out away from your body!" I open the passenger door to the van and stand behind it and then hand each child a slice and tell them to RUN away from me!
Katie wigs out because these ducks don't play! She comes back to the van WITH HER BREAD and I freak out. "THROW IT, THROW IT" well all the kids come running and I shove them in the sliding door and jump in behind them and slam it!
WHEEEEEEEWWWWWW ! We fed the THE DUCKS!

Oh yeah! Way to get them not to fear the duckies! Ha! That's funnier in the retell!
I was picturing this as I read and that is too funny! You poor girl.
This is so funny! I'm really scared of ducks, too. My sister takes my kids to feed them, but not me. That's one life experience they can have elsewhere :o)
Let's try and get together, soon, okay? I'm really excited for you about homeschooling. I pray sweet, amazing blessings on you guys as you begin this adventure!
Miss I'm going to write everyday!
